Born in North London to a Sri Lankan father and an English-Jewish mother, Sue took on a variety of working roles before settling into a freelance television career. When her son was born, she took a career break, moved to Buckinghamshire and began to write in her spare time, inspired by forgotten, misremembered scraps of history. Having enjoyed a childhood of extensive travel and clashing cultures, she hopes her writing will enable the reader to similarly enjoy a temporary interlude in another time and place. Sue enjoyed 11 years as a volunteer and trustee of her local community library before recently moving to Cambridgeshire with her husband, son and dog.
